Commercial oven comparison

Speed Oven vs Steam Oven

Many foodservice buyers compare a speed oven with a steam oven before choosing equipment. Both can be useful in commercial kitchens, but they are designed for different menu results and daily workflows.

A speed oven is usually selected for hot sandwiches, pizza slices, wraps, breakfast items, prepared snacks and reheating workflows where surface finish and saved programs matter. A steam oven is usually selected for foods that need moisture, gentle heating or steam-based cooking.

What a Speed Oven Is Better For

A commercial speed oven is useful when a kitchen needs repeatable menu programs for sandwiches, pizza slices, panini, wraps, breakfast rolls, prepared hot food and compact foodservice menus.

It is often a good fit for cafes, convenience stores, quick-service restaurants, delis, hotels and small restaurants where employees need to select approved programs quickly.

What a Steam Oven Is Better For

A steam oven is more focused on moisture and steam-based cooking. It may be used for vegetables, fish, rice, dumplings and other foods where the desired result is soft, moist or gently heated.

If the main menu depends on steam cooking or moisture retention, a steam oven may be more suitable than a speed oven.

Compare by Food Result

The first question is not the equipment name. The first question is the product result. Does the food need surface color, crispness, melting cheese, a toasted finish or a quick reheating process? A speed oven may fit that workflow.

If the food needs steam, moisture and gentle heating, a steam oven may be the better choice.

Compare by Staff Workflow

Jieguan EOA-1S and EOA-2S both include a 7-inch touchscreen and storage for up to 1,000 menu programs. This supports stores that need approved programs for different products and staff shifts.

Steam ovens may require a different workflow depending on the product and cooking process, so buyers should compare the real employee operation before purchasing.

EOA-1S and EOA-2S Speed Oven Options

EOA-1S has a 20L chamber, 220V power supply, 2.2kW hot-air power, 1.0kW microwave power and dimensions of 409 × 658 × 630 mm.

EOA-2S has a 30L chamber, 220V power supply, 3.2kW hot-air power, 2.0kW microwave power and dimensions of 580 × 610 × 720 mm.

Both models support a maximum temperature of 260°C and catalytic purification. Catalytic purification is a supported function, but it does not replace routine cleaning.

Which One Should You Choose?

Choose a speed oven if your menu focuses on sandwiches, pizza slices, panini, wraps, breakfast products, prepared hot food or compact service workflows. Choose a steam oven if your menu depends mainly on steam cooking and moisture retention.

For installation and electrical setup, confirm details with the supplier and a qualified local professional before purchasing.
